Hello all,

Here is my growlist.
I moved to Fr.Guyana 4 years ago, and I'm bulding up my collection again ;
many of my plants have been grown from seed or leaf cuttings,
from rhizome cuttings or dormant leaves...
Before that, I was growing CPs in europe for 10 years.

Roberta : pygmys are from this last december. some plants have developped up to 1cm, but they are still to small to produce gemmae...we'll have to wait

btw : why do you grow pygmys from seed ? it's easyer to grow them from gemmae...my plants are 3 months old, but some are 1cm tall ; better results than grown from seed !
imagine : the biggest plants have 7 fully developped leaves !!!

Here in Brazil, my pigmeas are blooming now, but I have gemmaes only in winter and maybe in the fall if temperatures are low.
But gemmaes coming from you, to Brazil, I guess not stand due to travel time, since their life is very short.
Anyway, we could try, if you're interested one day!

you are right, gemmae are produced only during a special period of the year. and this is a "handicap" to trade plants....if you are in "time presssure"

you must know that I try to grow CPs in french guyana since 4 years now, and that I have many trouble to make seeds germinate...this is why I prefer to use techniques like leaf cuttings or gemmae up-growing to produce plants...

gemmae are fragile objects, you are right, and they might dont stand a trip if it's too long. the gemmae I received took 10 to 20 days to arrive from germany to fr.guyana.... 3/4 of them where alive
trading living material is always a challenge !

question : how long did a letter take to go from north brazil to south brazil ?
I say this because in year 2012 the bridge between brazil and fr.guyana will be opened, and it will be possible to send letters from there to anywhere in brazil...and also any other plant from europe

my plants did not produce any seeds since I have them...I dont know why : certainly the pollinators are missing !

as I was living in Europe, it was the same thing ; that's why I polinated my plants myself, with success, and got some seeds....

if you are interested in Sarracenia seeds, I have some but not from my own plants.
they are 3 or 4 years old, if you want them, please send me a PM and I'll give you a list of what I have. to make them sprout, you can try GA3 (gibberillic acid)
